This beautiful villa and farm buildings are set within our 100 acre organic olive grove & fruit orchard in the Gargano National Park, Puglia at its most fascinating and bold: all dramatic coastline, stunning beaches and ancient olive groves. The Vallecoppa estate is off the beaten track, the Gargano national park countryside is unspoilt and still a habitat for wild flowers, interesting birdlife and animals such as wild pigs, boar and deer.
The renovated farm building is an old dove cote converted into a lovely kitchen, dining and lounging area on the ground floor and a double bedroom with ensuite on the 1st floor, that comfortably sleeps 2 people.
The house is decadent, the grand marble staircase takes you to the 1st floor apartment where there is a large salon area for lounging and dining leading onto a beautiful balcony with fantastic views, well equipped kitchen, master bedroom with ensuite, 2 double bedrooms & main bathroom that comfortably sleeps 6 people.
The ground floor apartment has beautiful barrelled ceilings dating back 400 years to the original farmhouse. There is a large well equipped kitchen / dining room, 2 double bedrooms, bathroom and a spacious lounging area that opens on to the terrace with fantastic views perfect for relaxing and dining al fresco that comfortably sleeps 4 people.
The bedrooms, balcony & terrace have breath-taking views over the estate which occupies Vallecoppa ‘the cup of the valley’, the valley flows from the ancient Umbra Forest down to the stunning Adriatic Coastline, with the closest beach 5 minutes drive away and more than a dozen beaches accessible within 20 minutes. The Umbra Forest borders the estate providing pleasurable walks and noticeably cooler air in the height of the summer. The dramatic coastline offers many boat trips to explore the caves and nearby islands. There are many good restaurants in Peschici & Vieste, both 20 minutes drive away.
Gastronomy Excursion
During low season you can try an adventurous excursion with a fantastic local chef, Mario runs Ristorante al Trabucco which has recently been awarded Best Seafood Restaurant in Puglia 2010 by the gourmet guide “LA PUGLIA E SERVITA”. The excursions vary and if booked well in advance you can specify the trip of your choice, this could be mushroom picking in the Foresta Umbra, fishing off the Trabucco (old wooden fishing platform jutting off a cliff) or visiting the local fruit & vegetable garden to pick your supper. You then join Mario in his kitchen to cook what you have picked or caught and enjoy with some carefully selected Puglian wine.
Local Religious Fiesta's
Vieste's main religious fiesta between 6th - 10th May is in honour of St Maria di Merino the local saint of the sea. The main procession is on the 9th May when you can follow the saint on her march from Vieste to the St Maria di Merino church 5 minutes from Vallecoppa. This is an all day event with a candle lit procession back to Vieste in the evening and a massive firework display to rival any new year celebration.
Peschici has its main religious fiesta between 17th - 22nd July, in honour of St Elia also with several grand firework displays and fantastic party atmosphere.
